Charges are heating up, but temperatures aren’t—Al Gore may replace Orson Welles as America’s Greatest Hoaxer.

The words “We interrupt this broadcast,” was repeatedly followed by dramatic accounts of Martians invading America, were heard by 6 million radio listeners one infamous Halloween night in 1938. Millions of panic-stricken Americans, first relieved then furious, found out they’d been hoaxed. They had just heard the radio adaptation of The War of the Worlds, by H.G. Wells, produced and narrated by Orson Welles.

Accounts of the hoax’s impact and motivation vary widely, but all agree the broadcast launched Orson Welles into infamy as America’s Greatest Hoaxer – a title that is now in jeopardy from a much bigger hoaxer: Al Gore, the front-man for the global warming hoax.

The Welles hoax lasted 60 minutes, and if “Climate-Gate“ charges are true, Al Gore’s hoax will have lasted 17 years and panicked billions more Americans and people from every nation in the world. The similarities between these hoaxes are many; some coincidental, and some frightening. Thankfully, for the purposes of this article, all are entertaining. Let’s look at just a couple. orson-welles-war-of-the-worlds

We know Orson Welles motivation for the War of the Worlds hoax was fame. If you have seen Al Gore’s movie, An Inconvenient Truth, especially the section devoted to Gore’s thwarted presidential hopes, you can deduce both men and were motivated by the pursuit of fame; yet, in an ironic twist, both may only be remembered in infamy.

Next and more importantly, the Martian and Climate hoax front-men have publicly supported socialist policies. Conspiracy theorists believe the Orson Welles broadcast was much more than a publicity stunt. They believe it was a dry run of an opening salvo for a plan to takeover America, spearheaded by the American communist Party, and sponsored by Joseph Stalin himself.

al-gore-feu-1Many Americans are unaware of how strong the Communists movement was in 1938 America; their power had reached its apex and was only stalled by the start of World War II that very same year: 1938. Al Gore was born 10 years after the Welles hoax, and has a vast public record of support for socialist beliefs. Many of the solutions proposed for global warming are suspiciously in line with communist doctrine. Could Al Gore’s climate hoax be the second attempt at a communist takeover of America?

Many of the conditions that existed in 1938 America exist today: a resurgence of socialism, a deep recession, a fear of foreign entanglements. A famous person once said, “A crisis is a terrible thing to waste.” After missing their chance in 1938, the World’s communists will not let another opportunity slip away.

Years from now, our kids will learn about the global warming hoax and America’s Greatest Hoaxer: Al Gore, much theal-gore-300x222 same way Baby Boomers learned about the Orson Welles The War of the Worlds, Martian invasion hoax–as a entertaining story and lesson on the responsibility free people have to stay educated and informed to avoid falling for the next great American hoax.

    In the late 1800’s, Arrhenius built upon Fourier’s assessment of atmospheric properties by plotting CO2 and temperature data collected in industrialized England. Arrhenius’ plots and calculations showed a relation between CO2 and ambient temperatures. In 1930’s, Callendar extended the analysis using long term observations from 200 stations arguing that there was a link between CO2 and climate warming. Keeling began collecting atmospheric CO2 samples from the Mauna Loa Observatory Hawaii in the late 1950’s and is the most complete record.

    The USGS reports that all volcanic activity produces nearly 200-million tons CO2 annually; much less than that produced by human activity. Mauna Loa, near the Observatory and the world’s most active volcano erupting 39 times since 1832, had major eruptions in 1950, 1975, and 1984. Atmospheric CO2 levels measured at volcanoes indicate the degree of activity and estimates of heat flow from one volcano have been reported at140-mW/m2. Correlating CO2 and temperatures from data collected near an active volcano should be significant but not show a cause and effect relation; however, correlating world-wide data significantly shows CO2 lagging temperature by approximately two years. The data analyzed by Arrhenius and Callendar similarly could be significantly biased owing to the urban heat-island effect and extensive coal burning at the time, as CO2 is an abundant byproduct of burning.

    Apparently, no laboratory control experiment to date, such as in a biodome, has shown CO2 levels influencing ambient temperatures. Tyndall (1861) measured the absorptive characteristics of CO2 followed by more precise measurements by Burch (1970). Absorbance is a measure of the quantity of light (energy) absorbed by a sample (CO2 molecule) and the amount of absorbed energy can be represented as specific heat of a substance. Specific heat of CO2 ranges from 0.791-kJ/kgK at 0-degrees F to 0.871-kJ/kgK at 125-degrees F and average atmospheric concentrations are 0.0306-percent. As revealed, the specific heat of CO2 increases as ambient temperatures increase showing CO2 likely is an ambient temperature buffer.

    The atmosphere generally contains 4-percent water vapor in the troposphere to 40-percent near the surface. The specific heat of water vapor is relatively constant at 1.996-kJ/kgK. Water absorbs energy (heat) and evaporates to water vapor. During condensation (precipitation), latent heat is released to the atmosphere thus increasing ambient temperatures. Water vapor holds the majority of atmospheric heat and regulates climate and temperature more than any compound. Historically, however, the characteristics of water vapor related to climate were much less appreciated but investigations into the significance that water vapor plays in global climate-dynamics are just beginning.

    The amount of energy not stored in the atmosphere is released into space through radiation. Re-radiation is the emission of previously absorbed radiation by molecules. The specific heat of water vapor and CO2 molecules shows that water vapor reradiates significantly more energy back to the surface and the atmospheric quantities for each compound further justify this case. Thus, this and other publications suggest that the minute variability in atmospheric CO2 concentrations likely results in an insignificant affect on climate change; whereas water vapor is the significant factor.

    AGW is on life support… The adults are involved now, the public is engaged. We were content to let the children prattle about until their carrying-on posed a danger to themselves.

    The adults will step in now and quash this nonsense.

    At least with Mr. Welles it was all meant as a good-natured joke….

    Pity about your headline. 2009 is poised to pass 2005 as the warmest year since 1998 and become the second warmest year since records began. Please see:

    pity you utilize the completely debunked NASA as a main data source for your comment. Not only have NASA's ABSURD calculations been completely debunked, they themselves updated the data after REAL Mathematicians not pretend climatologists looked into their data and proved it INCORRECT
    Some of the "fixes":
    * The hottest year on record is 1934, not 1998;
    * The third hottest year on record was 1921, not 2006;
    * Three of the five hottest years on record occurred before 1940; and
    * Six of the top 10 hottest years occurred prior to 90 percent of the growth in greenhouse gas emissions during the last century.

    Man made global warming…FAR less believable than Santa.

    As of November 20, 2009 Green = Stupid

    Which is really sad. We do need to heal the planet. What we don't need is a global gov't run by racketeering eugenicists and shyster scientists. Everybody in Copenhagen should come home–NOW.

    Let's see what comes out of the suit against NASA for the same type of data manipulation found in the CRU.

    Great article. It's a shame that this happened. Be prepared for similar scientific hoaxes.

  10. Very informative article, I have saved it and showed to to some of my friends already.
